US Fish and Wildlife Raids Gibson Guitars
Gibson Guitars says it is fully cooperating with U.S. Fish and Wildlife agents who reportedly raided its facilities in Nashville Tuesday.
The investigation revolves around harvested wood for guitars, presumably exotic hardwoods harvested from rain forests which have come under tight controls. No charges have been filed.
In a statement from the company, Gibson says its chairman and CEO sits on the board of the Rainforest Alliance and makes every effort to ensure wood purchases are legal and environmentally responsible.
