A locally-made short film has won a spot in the Venice Film Festival.
Joey Ciccoline’s 88:88 was one of 15-thousand submissions to acclaimed director and producer Ridley Scott’s YouTube Your Film competition. Now, after two rounds of cuts, including an online vote, the Nashvillian’s movie is one of ten finalists, which will be shown in Italy at the opening event of the Venice Festival.
Scott and a jury chosen by his production company will select the winner. The prize is half a million dollars to make another movie with Scott as producer.
