M-F 9am-5pm price: n/a The exhibition ‘Juissance’ is displayed May 11th-Aug. 11th at the Frist Gallery of the Nashville Ballet at 3630 Redmon Street. The exhibits features works that depict the search for pleasure/joy and it’s relation to pain. Some of the works in this series were created as social commentary, others reflect autobiographical anecdotes, and some are meant to tell a story. The mediums and materials are varied, many works are painted on found planks of wood, others are created on doors, and some on canvas. An opening reception is 3-5pm May 11th.

For the first time this exhibition will be held at Cheekwood Botanical Garden, in Botanic Hall. The show is Sat. 10am to 4pm and Sun. 11am to 3pm. A bonsai design workshop is 10:30am-12pm Sat. with bonsai master Warren Hill. The exhibition is free and open to the public, though there is an admission fee to Cheekwood for anyone who does not have a Cheekwood membership.
