Four hundred fifty-thousand. That’s roughly the number of Tennessee kids who are overweight according to a state survey. Doctors at Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital have tried, with little success, to help hundreds of those kids over the last five years. The reason is that children can’t lose weight on their own. The entire family needs to make sacrifices, and that can be a tough sell. WPLN’s Anne Marshall reports.
