Nashville ended up having its biggest year for home sales in nearly a decade — up nearly 11 percent from 2014.
Here are the highlights from the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors:
- There were nearly 37,000 closings, which is not quite as many as 2005 and 2006, but nearly double the low point in 2010, when only 20,000 properties sold.
- Median prices in December hit an all-time high of $242,945. Before 2015, the highest mark had been $222,000. And typically, prices follow the same seasonal trends of closings, so it’s rare to reach a high point in December.
- Williamson County — far and away — leads the region in median price, at $410,000, but other counties have seen
far more growth in recent months. - One of the few numbers to backtrack in recent months is a decline in condo sales for Wilson Co.
- Pending sales are also at their highest point in a decade, so the pace is expected to continue into 2016.
