A Tennessee man who climbed his way into the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6. has been found guilty for his role in the insurrection.
A federal jury convicted 38-year-old Matthew Bledsoe Thursday on five charges — one felony and four misdemeanors. Bledsoe is one of more than 850 people charged for their actions on Jan. 6, when hundreds stormed the U.S. Capitol as Congress tried to certify the 2020 election results.
Bledsoe is confined to the Western District of Tennessee’s jurisdiction, but he’s been allowed to cross state lines for trips related to his Memphis-based moving company, Prime Time Movers. He was living in Cordova in Shelby County at the time of his arrest.
Bledsoe faces more than 20 years in prison at his sentencing in late October.
