Metro Councilman Buck Dozier received his second major endorsement today on the steps of the Metro Courthouse.
“It is my honor to announce that the largest police representative in Nashville, TN, which is the Fraternal Order of Police, overwhelmingly have endorsed Buck Dozier as our next mayor for Nashville, TN.”
FOP President Danny Hale made the announcement but didn’t release figures of the internal vote. He says his organization represents 800 Metro policemen, but no longer negotiates salary contracts for its membership. The Teamsters Local 327 took over negotiations last February.
The Teamsters, for their part, voted to endorse former Congressman Bob Clement, labeling him a ‘labor man.’
Early voting starts July 13th. Election day is August 2nd.
