Early voting for Metro’s General Election next Thursday ends tomorrow. So far, 35,803 voters have turned out pick the city’s next Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Metro Council.
Davidson County Election Coordinator Ray Barrett says early voting totals show that 10% of eligible voters have turned out for the election. The ballot is crowded with candidates for some races, like the one for mayor, there are 7 candidates on the ballot, and the one for at-large spots, there are 26 candidates vying for those 5 open seats.
Even with heated races, Barrett expects no more than 30% of Nashville’s 300,000 voters to turn out next Thursday.
There are two days left to vote early– Friday until 6 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 am to 4 pm.
