Today is the deadline to register to vote in the state’s primary and county general elections in August.
Voter registration forms are online, at libraries and other public offices.
All of Tennessee’s state Representatives are up for re-election, as are the even numbered state Senate district seats. On the federal level, there is a Democratic primary race, in which the winner will face incumbent GOP Senator Lamar Alexander. Incumbent U.S. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn has a Republican primary challenger.
Two state Supreme Court justices face judicial retention.
The August ballot also includes various county and city elections. In Davidson County, there aren’t many competitive races, aside from the five school board seats up for election, and the Democratic primary race for former State Representative Rob Briley’s seat.
Early voting for the August 7th election is July 18th – August 2nd.
