The state legislature has the final figures for next year’s state budget – a billion dollars less than last year’s because of sinking revenues. The state Senate has passed two bills that fine-tune the revenue stream such as small changes to business taxes. Now that the General Assembly knows how much money the state should have, legislators must tackle the spending side by the end of the fiscal year, June 30th. And the appropriations part of the budget has become much more political. WPLN’s Blake Farmer and state capitol correspondent Joe White have the latest.
