The list of counties eligible for help continues to grow, check with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency for a complete list of counties where FEMA aid is available.
Dickson, Maury, Sumner and Rutherford are among six counties that have been added to the growing list of federal disaster areas in Tennessee.
Governor Phil Bredesen asked President Barack Obama for federal help in 52 counties because of last weekend’s floods and tornados. A total of 27 counties are now federal disasters.
The declaration means victims may qualify for financial help, including temporary housing and low-interest loans. The list of counties eligible for FEMA aid includes: Benton, Carroll, Cheatham, Crockett, Davidson, Decatur, Dickson, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Madison, Maury, McNairy, Montgomery, Obion, Perry, Shelby, Sumner, Rutherford, Tipton and Williamson.
