The October numbers are in for Nashville area home sales-and they could replace the proverbial glass of water for telling if someone’s an optimist or pessimist. Glass half full–sales continue to outpace figures from 2012. Half empty-the market seems to be slowing.
Month after month, the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors have reported double digit increases in home sales—18% higher in February and August, 27% in April.
The October figure is more modest, with closings not quite 7% higher than the same month last year.
But, with two months left to go, there have already been more home sales this year than in all of 2012.
The news is also mixed when it comes to sale prices. The median price for a single family home remains strong, at $200,000. But condos went for about $9000 less than at the same time last year.
