NES Says Expect Bills To Be Higher

The Nashville Electric Service is giving customers a heads up – be prepared for higher bills.

NES issued a news release Wednesday warning customers that bills could rise significantly with the summer heat. NES says June was 47 percent hotter than normal and that power demand has already gone beyond last summer’s peak.

The utility says system load hit 2,364 megawatts on the afternoon of June 24th. That’s still more than 100 megawatts below the highest demand on record in August of 2007.
