Tennessee’s Democratic candidate for governor has recruited a commissioner from the outgoing Bredesen administration.

Mike McWherter announced Tuesday he’s hiring Ken Givens as a campaign advisor. Givens served as a state lawmaker for 14 years before becoming commissioner of agriculture under Bredesen.
