The streak of climbing home sales numbers has ended in the Nashville area. After three straight years of growth, fewer homes were sold in March than the same month last year.
Realtors are blaming bad weather. Greater Nashville Association of Realtors president Hagan Stone points out that if you lump the first three months of the year together, sales were up by a modest three percent.
“When I see the trend that the whole quarter is up, I’ll have to see another month down before I make a different determination.”
Another good sign for the housing market is the median home price, which is up significantly over last year. A single-family home is going for $195,000 compared to $169,000 last year.
