Carlisle Transportation Products is bringing its home office to headquarters-heavy Cool Springs. The company will locate 100 jobs in Williamson County.
Carlisle Transportation is a new subsidiary which merges the parent company’s tire and wheel manufacturing with its power transmission arm.
The firm chose the Nashville region because of its central location and its proximity to the company’s manufacturing plants in Jackson and Clinton, Tennessee.
Williamson County economic development director Matt Largen says other companies like Nissan, Oreck and Mars Petcare cite the same reasons for moving to the area.
“This may be part of a larger trend we’re seeing where companies are trying to get some efficiencies in their operations, so they’re locating their office and headquarters locations in closer proximity to their manufacturing facilities.”
Carlisle President Fred Sutter says being near to other corporate headquarters also helps attract talent.
Carlise Transportation will start out with temporary offices this summer and locate in the McEwen Building starting in October.
Its parent company employs 11,000 workers worldwide, with $2.5 billion in sales last year. The firm deals in a variety of products, ranging from commercial roofing to aerospace.
