DA Asks TBI, Auditors to Investigate Arriola

District Attorney Torry Johnson says he’s asking the state to look into possible wrongdoing by Davidson County Clerk John Arriola. A Channel Five investigation questioned whether Arriola placed someone on his payroll who doesn’t actually perform a job for the clerk’s office. Those reports also said Arriola charges for officiating at weddings.

Johnson says he is asking the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to conduct a criminal investigation, and for the State Comptroller’s Office to perform a financial audit.
