Nashville is among the top 20 sites being considered for a second headquarters for Amazon. The company released the list Thursday morning which did not indicate any preferential order.
Nashville, Raleigh, Miami and Atlanta are the only southeastern cities
to make the cut from 238 down to 20. Memphis had
submitted a bid as well.
Nashville officials have been relatively quiet about the possibility and have not disclosed what kind of incentives and tax breaks were included in their offering. Other cities have been proposing
unprecedented amounts to woo the company as the project is expected to bring 50,000 jobs and billions of dollars in economic impact.
“Our team is working on the response to position the incredible strengths of the Nashville region,” Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce spokesperson Andrea Albers says in a statement.

In a statement, Mayor Megan Barry says Nashville’s “progressive, pro-business climate” and “great quality of life” fit the environment Amazon is looking for. She says in the coming weeks her office will be working with the Chamber of Commerce and state officials to identify locations in Davidson County that would be “a good fit.”
