Santorum Puts Tennessee In His “Wheelhouse”

GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum is returning to Tennessee today ahead of next week’s primary. Appearing on the Steve Gill radio show, Santorum said Tennessee is part of his Super Tuesday strategy.

“We feel like Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, that’s sort of our wheelhouse right now and we’re going to be working those states very, very hard.”

Winning all three, Santorum says, would show he could do well in the South, the Midwest and the Plains.

Santorum is scheduled to attend a noon rally in Knoxville at a small Bible college.

Tonight, the former Pennsylvania Senator has a public event at Belmont University.

Earlier this week, Newt Gingrich made a swing through Nashville. Mitt Romney has not released plans for a visit to the state.
