Belmont University paid tribute to “Star Wars” on Thursday morning as the bell tower carrilon rang out an eight-minute medley from the iconic film score.
The man playing the music, longtime professor Dr. Richard Shadinger
, sat perched some 50 feet above the ground, pounding his hands and feet onto wooden keys attached to the 42 bells a floor above.
The small crowd gathered below applauded after each song.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opened Thursday night.
