They’re icons, members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Country Music Hall of Honor, the Prairie Music Hall of Fame, the Mariposa Hall of Fame, the Order of Canada and singers of what the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation named the greatest Canadian song of all time. They’ve been a huge influence across three genres and were early country rock pioneers. Their songs have been covered by everyone from Bob Dylan & Neil Young to Sarah McLachlan and the Tragically Hip. Few things transcend generations, cultures and borders, are more quintessentially Canadian or more bluegrassically adaptable than their music.
