Nashville’s transit referendum passes with two-thirds approval

The referendum is the city’s second attempt at establishing a dedicated source of funding for its transit system. If it passes, it will increase Nashville’s sales tax by a half-cent to fund $3.1 billion in transportation upgrades.

Blackburn holds on to her U.S. Senate seat

Incumbent Sen. Marsha Blackburn has beaten out state Rep. Gloria Johnson in a high-profile battle for one of Tennessee’s two U.S. Senate seats. The Associated Press called the race for Blackburn just after polls closed at 7 p.m.

Election Day turnout strong so far in Davidson County

Davidson County saw a strong start to Election Day voting this morning, with several locations reporting lines forming before they even opened their doors. As of Tuesday afternoon, in-person voting was more than 25% higher than at the same time in 2020.
