Nashville Must Hold Next Mayor’s Election In May, Court Rules

Updated 5 p.m. Nashville must hold its special election between May 21 and 25 — two and a half months sooner than anticipated — according to a ruling Tuesday from the Tennessee Supreme Court.

After Immigration Raid In Bean Station, Advocates Try To Make Sure No One Is Left Behind

Immigration advocates are calling last week’s operation at an East Tennessee meatpacking plant the largest workplace raid since President Trump took office. Ninety-seven workers allegedly without legal status were arrested, and more than half have already been transferred to detention centers out of state.
