Haslam’s Decision Not To Run For Senate Triggers Waterfall Of Campaign Announcements

Gov. Bill Haslam issued a statement Thursday saying he will not run for U.S. Senate, altering the calculus of the race to replace the retiring Republican Bob Corker and other races down the ballot. So far, two other politicians have announced their decisions later in the day as well.

Nashville Airmen Head To Puerto Rico To Help Restore Power

Listen A specially trained unit from the Tennessee Air National Guard deployed Wednesday night to help with hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Sixteen airmen, including one born and raised in Puerto Rico, have trained for years to assist during domestic national disasters, specifically when power is lost.

Nashville’s Hotels And Restaurants Have A Hiring Problem

Tennessee Supreme Court Recommends Boost In Legal Aid To The Poor

Listen Poor Tennesseans who find themselves in the justice system could be about to get some more legal help, as the state Supreme Court has approved a plan meant to improve Tennessee’s system of indigent representation. But, justices say, the proposal is going to require some help from the governor and state lawmakers.
