Siding With Governor, Tennessee Lawmakers Decide Not To Make Bible The State Book

Listen The Bible isn’t going to become Tennessee’s official book. That’s the decision from state lawmakers. The Tennessee House of Representatives voted 50-43 not to override Gov. Bill Haslam’s veto of a measure that would have added the Holy Bible to the list of state symbols, reversing course from a year ago.

Murfreesboro Parent Wants Clean Slate, Peaceful Resolution For Arrested Elementary Students

Listen Murfreesboro police still have not said why as many as 10 children were arrested at Hobgood Elementary School on Friday, citing state law that prohibits the release of juvenile records. Parents say they have been told the charges came because the students did not intervene in a fight that happened off campus.
