An announcement from General Motors Tuesday could be good news for laid off workers at the GM plant in Spring Hill.
The automaker says it will invest $2 billion in U.S. assembly and component plants. That accounts for 4,000 jobs at 17 facilities in eight states. The first of the new jobs were made public last week in Bowling Green, Kentucky where workers are being added to the Corvette factory.
GM says more announcements will be made over the next few months, adding that some are dependent on the completion of state and local incentive packages.
