Officials from a regional accreditation group visited Fisk University this week. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has warned Fisk officials that the school is as at risk of losing its accreditation. The association cites a lack of qualified administrators and financial stability at the school. The Tennessean reports Fisk has its smallest enrollment in years—just 550 students, down from more than 900 five years ago. President Hazel O’Leary says she’s not happy with the enrollment figures, but she says more than 90 percent of students who were enrolled last year returned this year.
