Nashville airport officials say Sunday, December 26th, will be the busiest day of the holiday travel week. Airport spokeswoman Emily Richard says they’re expecting 12,000 passengers to come through Nashville the day after Christmas.
New screening procedures for people and bags are slowing down the already long lines. Richard advises arriving at the airport two hours ahead of your scheduled takeoff.
“Especially during the holidays, we have a lot of passengers who don’t travel as often and aren’t as familiar, not as savvy with the screening process, so that’s part of it, not knowing they can and cannot carry on.”
Put the snow globes in checked bags, and ship wrapped gifts. Gifts have to be unwrapped to be inspected, and items containing liquid won’t make it through screening.
The Transportation Security Agency maintains a list of which typical holiday items are allowed.
