Alexander Compares Ebola To A Fire, Says US Should Charge Toward The Flames

Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander says US leaders need to take the deadly outbreak of Ebola as seriously as the militant group Islamic State.

Alexander is the ranking Republican on the Senate’s health committee, which holds a hearing on Ebola Tuesday. He says he support the Obama Administration’s request for $500 million to send troops to Africa on top of millions more for Ebola research.

In a statement, Alexander calls the Ebola epidemic an instance where “we should be running toward the burning flames with our fireproof suits on.”
