Tennessee Republican Caucus Chairman Jeremy Faison is being sued after blocking a Middle Tennessee State University professor on Facebook.

The conversation above took place shortly before Rep. Jeremy Faison decided to block Dean Fox.
On Sept. 6, Rep. Jeremy Faison posted on his official Facebook page recognizing the Labor Day holiday weekend.
A commenter named Ray Barnes said, “It’s great to be appreciated. How about a raise?”
Faison fired back, asking Barnes if bettering himself or getting a better job was out of the question.
MTSU adjunct professor Dean Fox also replied to this thread, calling Faison’s reply hypocritical after receiving money from the Paycheck Protection Program.
Faison switched between his official legislative page and personal account during the interaction. Afterward, the lawmaker deleted the professor’s comments and blocked Fox from his page, according to the lawsuit.
The professor argues that being denied access from an elected official’s account violates his First Amendment right to speak freely in a public forum.
His attorneys are asking that Faison unblock Fox.
Other elected officials have also been sued after blocking people from their social media. Several twitter users sued Donald Trump over his habit of blocking critics before he was banned from the platform.
Faison did not return a request for comment.
