Two men accused of plotting to kill more than 100 people will appear in Memphis for a detention hearing on Thursday. Federal agents say they have spoiled their plot to go on a shooting rampage at a predominantly black high school.
The two accused neo-Nazi skinheads planned to kill 88 people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are white supremacy symbols made popular by Aryan Nation leader David Lane.
In an affidavit, the two said they would end their killing spree with an assassination attempt on Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama. Interviews with Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents reveal the two planned to drive a car at Senator Obama while shooting out the window. They planned to wear white tuxedos and top hats.
Sheriff’s deputies in Crockett County, west of Jackson, arrested the two men October 22nd. They seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols. Authorities allege the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.
