Gun reform advocates are demanding action ahead of gun-specific special session

Gun safety advocates in Tennessee have ramped up their call for the General Assembly to make substantive changes to the state’s gun laws. In the past week, groups have held rallies in Middle Tennessee as well as press conferences across the state.

A new Tennessee law aims to help firefighters suffering from PTSD

Firefighters are exposed to traumatic events throughout their career, making them more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. In Tennessee, that disorder isn’t considered work-related, which means firefighters’ workers compensation is unlikely to cover it. A new law can help.

Nashville sues to stop state takeover of the airport authority, citing home rule

Metro Nashville is suing Gov. Bill Lee and Republican leaders of the General Assembly over a new law reforming the Airport Authority board. The suit contends that the law violates the state constitution’s home rule and equal protection clause.

Two widows successfully lobbied lawmakers to change Tennessee’s workers compensation law in favor of laborers
