Audit: Parole Officers Keep Reporting on Offenders After They Died

Angola Develops Appetite for Tennessee Chicken

TSU Latest Campus to Receive Bomb Threat

Students are back in class at the downtown campus of Tennessee State University after a bomb threat was called in this morning. While police found no evidence of an explosive device, it’s the latest in a rash of bomb scares at colleges around the country.

Cracker Barrel Stays Mum on Shareholder Fight

San Antonio investor Sardar Biglari says Cracker Barrel’s management isn’t doing enough to increase profits and drive more customers into its restaurants. Biglari has announced plans to nominate himself and an associate to Cracker Barrell’s board during the company’s annual meeting in November.

Brookdale Banks on Silent Generation

Executives from Brentwood-based Brookdale Senior Living made their pitch to investors in New York today. The nation’s largest owner of retirement homes says it needs capital, because it expects to grow even bigger in the next few years. That growth will come from seniors with means.
