Nashville has been chosen as the site for next year’s Automotive News Manufacturer’s Conference.
The biennial event is a small but important gathering of industry executives.
Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber says the conference will be a prime opportunity to show automakers what Tennessee has to offer.
“This announcement comes at a very significant time for our state. Our state has just become the North American headquarters of Nissan and it is our profound hope that automobile manufacturing will continue to grow in our state. We have three TVA-certified megasites in our state, and I know there are some folks in Clarksville who hope to join that list in the not-too-distant future.”
Megasites are large industrial properties that are well-suited to auto manufacturing or assembly plants.
Currently, more than one-thousand automotive-related companies have operations in the state.
The conference will take place next May at the Renaissance Hotel. It has met in Tennessee twice before, most recently in 2001.
