Bellevue residents will become eligible for curbside recycling service starting in January. Its Metro Nashville’s first home recycling offered outside the Urban Services District. But residents must pay 10-dollars a month.
The Bellevue drop-off recycling center by Interstate 40 is one of the busiest in Davidson County. Bellevue Councilman Bo Mitchell says people are even there on a Wednesday afternoon.
“I just left there, unloading a truckful of cardboard boxes, and there were several cars there then.”
The contractor that will offer curbside recycling requires one-thousand participants. Mitchell says at least that many will sign up over the next 30 days. He’s become something of a spokesman for Earthsavers, which will also charge 40-dollars for the rolling bins that will get emptied each month. Bellevue residents will receive a robo-call from Mitchell telling them how to sign up over the next few days.
