Beloved character actor and Chattanooga native Leslie Jordan has died.
The 67-year-old actor crashed his car after experiencing a medical incident Monday morning in Hollywood, Calif.
Jordan was best known for his role as Beverley Leslie on “Will and Grace.”
He also built a sizable following during the pandemic, posting silly, homemade videos to his 5 million followers.
“Well hello, fellow hunker-downers. Leslie Allen Jordan reporting for duty,” he would often begin his videos.
In addition to jokes and entertainment gossip, Jordan posted a recurring feature titled “Sunday Mornin’ Hymn Singin'” in which he would sing hymns from his childhood.
His last post on Instagram features an original song he said he would be releasing soon.
Jordan spoke candidly about being openly gay in Hollywood in the ’80s when it was more difficult to find work.
A frequent visitor to Tennessee, he served as Grand Marshal of Nashville’s Pride parade in June.
