They’re large areas of flatland with few trees that cover more than a third of the world and include some of the most desolate as well as some of the most fertile places on earth. No wonder they have been the inspiration for many mighty Bluegrass songs. Thanks to Bluegrass, Etc., Tony Trischka, Sally Jones, and the Deseret String Band, we’ll be having a bang-up time celebrating all manner of plains—from the Northern Plains, Great Plains, and Strawberry Plains to the Plains of Waterloo.
