They’re something that serve to cover, conceal or disguise. In BluegrassLand, they’re most commonly seen on brides (in a shade of white, the color representing purity) and widows (in a shade of black, the color representing grief). Whatever their iteration, they’ve given rise to a passel of fine high, blue and lonesome tunes. With the help of Jim Eanes, Chris Thile, the Seldom Scene, Traditional Grass and the Wildwood Valley Boys, we’ll be lifting all manner of veils.
