Nashville-based Corrections Corporation of America has won a contract to house a thousand of Arizona’s medium-security male inmates.
According to a release from Arizona’s Corrections Department, the state already has a shortage of beds, and projects its prison population will grow in the next few years. The release does not say where CCA will house the inmates, only that the company is scheduled to have 500 beds available at the start of 2014, plus another 500 the following year.
