Chrysler will stop selling new cars at 14 dealerships across Tennessee as the troubled automaker restructures. One Nashville dealer on that list calls the news “disappointing,” but says his business will survive.
New Chryslers make up about half the monthly sales at Southeast Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge in Nashville. General Manager Joey Huffines says his business will have to change, but it’s not going away.
“Obviously we would prefer to continue as a franchise dealer as our first choice, but it’s not the end of the world for us. We’re a viable, independent business. We’ll regroup and find a new path.”
Huffines says it’s not clear why Chrysler decided to stop providing new vehicles to his business.
The manufacturer is also cutting Southeast Signature Motors in Murfreesboro.
