An upcoming sales mission to Boston by city and business leaders isn’t the field trip it sounds like it could be.
That’s according to Nashville Chamber of Commerce President Butch Spyridon, who’ll be joining Nashville Mayor Karl Dean along with other members from the Chamber and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau for a working weekend. They’re leaving for Boston on Friday to call upon sales leads for Nashville. Spyridon says it’s also a fact finding mission.
“There’s an equity investment firm we’re calling on. The mayor’s gonna go look at one of their better school programs. We’re gonna go have an in-depth look at their convention center. What they did right and what they did wrong, and get in front hopefully hundreds of thousands of people with our message.”
City leaders across the country frequently visit each other to both promote tourist attractions, and get ideas on growth and planning. Spryidon says Kansas City and Raleigh officials have recently visited Nashville for that purpose.
