Jeff Eslick has won the Metro Council race in District 11 by the slimmest of margins — 27 votes.
Compared to the other districts with runoffs, the contrast between candidates was stark. While Eslick, a conservative media producer, created an anti-Freddie O’Connell ad, Eric Patton received endorsements from Planned Parenthood and other progressive causes.
Winners have emerged in districts 4 and 29 as well. Mike Cortese has claimed District 4, beating out former councilmember Davette Blalock by close to 3,000 votes. In District 29, Tasha Ellis prevailed against John Reed with a commanding 62% of the vote.
Of the 35 districts in Nashville’s Metro Council, only these three required runoffs. In the other 32 districts, a winner emerged with more than 50% of the vote during the first round of voting in August.
