Middle Tennesseans are much less sure of the economy than just a few months ago.
Several times a year, Middle Tennessee State University conducts a survey to gauge people’s opinion of the economy, then scores the answers. The higher the number, the better people feel. The new consumer confidence index is nearly half of what it was in September. Although perceptions of the area’s current economic situation improved slightly, people are much more nervous about the future, and far fewer think this is a good time to make big purchases.
