A homeless writer for Nashville’s street newspaper The Contributor won a national award over the weekend.
Michael Cooke, better known as Pontiac, won “Best Vendor Contribution” from the North American Street Newspaper Association.
The one-year-old newspaper takes submissions from homeless advocates and those who live on the streets. The homeless vendors purchase the papers for a quarter and sell them for a dollar.
