Nashville Democrat Jim Cooper is supporting a bi-partisan compromise to end the partial government shutdown and get 800,000 federal workers back on the job.
Broadly, it funds operations for six-months and repeals the medical device tax in President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
In a statement, Cooper says Congress needs to “stop partisan bickering.”
However, the proposal is a non-starter to leadership on both sides of the aisle.
