Tennessee Senator Bob Corker wants more answers from the Obama Administration on last year’s attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. It’s a dramatic shift on the issue from the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Just last week, Corker told MSNBC that he was satisfied with the White House’s response to questions surrounding the attacks. But that was before a marathon six-hour hearing chaired by House Republicans, where a State Department employee testified that he was demoted for questioning the administration’s actions following the terrorist attack that killed four Americans.
Corker and other Republicans on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee also want to know more about accusations that the State Department heavily edited a series of White House talking points about what happened in Benghazi. Today, President Obama called questions about those talking points a ‘sideshow’ and ‘politically motivated.’ The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Democrat Bob Menendez of New Jersey, hasn’t responded to Corker’s request for additional hearings.
