Cracker Barrel has begun mailing letters to shareholders asking that they – again –keep activist investor Sardar Biglari off the company’s board of directors.
The Lebanon-based restaurant chain’s annual meeting where board members are elected will be held November 15th.
Biglari – whose holding company owns Steak and Shake – also is Cracker Barrel’s largest shareholder. He made an unsuccessful run for the company’s board last year. This year, he’s also nominated the vice president of his own company.
Biglari says Cracker Barrel could be more profitable than it is. CEO Sandra Cochran says Biglari could “jeopardize” the company’s “momentum.”
