We’ll continue to update this post with election news, as the votes are counted Thursday night.
Update, 1:19 p.m., August 7
Businesswoman Linda Eskind Rebrovick thanked her supporters on Thursday night. She was hoping to serve in elective office for the first time, but finished next-to-last in voting.
Update 12:09 a.m., August 7
We now have audio available from Howard Gentry’s final speech. He was slow to concede the race, saying he wanted to wait to see results from certain key districts that have been the linchpin of his previous countywide wins (Gentry is criminal court clerk, an elected position, and has served as an at-large council member and vice-mayor in the past). Once he did take the microphone and say the campaign was over, he used to the opportunity to not only thank his family and supporters but challenge the two candidates in the runoff.
Update 11:00 pm
Megan Barry got the most number of votes in tonight’s mayoral election, and she’ll face David Fox in a runoff on September 10th. Here is the audio of Barry’s election party speech from the Nashville Farmers’ Market:
Update 10:05 pm
Bill Freeman conceded shortly before 10:00 p.m., setting the stage for a Fox and Barry runoff. Here’s the audio of his speech:

Update 8:20 pm:
According to Nina Cardona from the Gentry election night party, the candidate is making a speech but not conceding. According to the latest tally, Gentry has about half the votes of the two leaders: Barry and Fox. Bill Freeman is pretty close behind the leaders, and appears to be the only credible threat to the top two at this early hour.
Jeremy Kane is also conceding. So, we’re down to five candidates.
Update 8:05 pm:
And then there were six — Charles Robert Bone is conceding, according to WPLN’s Chas Sisk:

This
Tennessean article shows where the candidates are hosting their election night parties. WPLN reporters are in attendance at each. Nina Cardona says Gentry’s party is in one of the fancier places she’s been in Nashville. Photographic evidence that indeed, there is a velvet rope:

Original Post:
The polls in Nashville have closed, and with that comes our first snap shot of the
tally board
in the mayoral election and other contests being decided today.
As the first votes are counted, Megan Barry looks to have the most votes so far — by a slim margin over David Fox. Bill Freeman isn’t far behind but everyone else is at this point.
David Briley leads Tim Garrett in the race for Vice Mayor, by around 4,000 votes.
Out of the gate, Amendment 3 is the only one with more yes votes than no votes. The numbers are pretty lopsided, against ratification, for Amendments 1 and 2.
Supporters cheer
