Faith Hill and Tim McGraw were honored with stars number 73 and 74 on the Music City Walk of Fame on Wednesday, with guests including Mayor Megan Barry and Reba McEntire.
Before embarking on a 65-date tour that was recently announced at their surprise Ryman Auditorium show this week, the couple spent the morning in Music City Walk of Fame Park with hundreds of fans watching as their stars were unveiled.
The event began with Mayor Barry speaking on Faith and Tim’s contributions to Nashville and the important musical culture of the city. Country icon Reba McEntire then took the mic to tell personal anecdotes about her two friends, who also happened to be celebrating their 2oth wedding anniversary.
McEntire told a story about Tim McGraw, who many years ago arrived to Nashville on a bus with a dream to sing country music, recently signing a contract with Big Machine Records at the same bus stop where he was dropped off.
She also mentioned that Faith Hill, for a short time, worked at a McDonald’s. Faith acknowledged that that job lasted two weeks.
During his speech, McGraw talked about a beautiful woman on his first tour he tried to distance himself from, trying not be distracted.
But alas, Tim said, “that lasted about as long as her job at McDonald’s.”
