Workers at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky — where a sinkhole opened up last month and swallowed 8 cars — have now recovered one. The 2009 “Blue Devil” ZR1 was supported by straps and pulled from the hole by crane Monday morning.
Once the car had been set down, it was then started up with just a few turns of the key, and driven 20 feet to the Skydome doorway. Project construction manager Mike Murphy then said “That’s a GM product for you. They take a licking and keep on ticking.”
Crews plan to continue removing the cars over the coming days.
